About this event

Women in Asia, especially among poor communities, face significant economic, social and cultural barriers in securing livelihoods. They are inhibited by their socio-economic status, cultural norms as well as their low awareness about markets, making it a high-barrier to entry for women to work and earn in sustainable livelihoods.

What are the realities, barriers and opportunities for establishing women-based livelihoods in Asia? How can women’s contributions to climate change mitigation and development be measured and used to promote their empowerment?

Through this webinar Sattva, WOCAN and Smart Power India will

  • Lay the landscape for livelihoods and self-employment for women in Asia
  • Discuss community to market approaches around identified market needs
  • Explain how the W+ Standard can be applied to recognize and reward contributions made by women to create sustainable environments
