AVPN Myanmar Masterclass: Digital Storytelling for Social Impact
27 February 2019, Wednesday | 9:00AM – 12:00PM
#10-01 Sule Square, 221 Sule Pagoda Road, Kyauktada Township, Yangon, Myanmar
The registration is now CLOSED.
The digital revolution has been transformational and disruptive. How can social purpose organisations (SPOs) leverage on this breakthrough in this connected era?
In partnership with Our Better World (OBW), AVPN invites you to the very first digital storytelling masterclass in Yangon. OBW is the digital storytelling initiative of the Singapore International Foundation that inspires people to come alongside to support the good work SPOs are doing in these stories.
This masterclass will aim to:
- Share OBW’s first-hand learnings and case studies on how digital storytelling can help SPOs to impact more lives;
- Provide tools and guidelines on how to create a good story;
- Guide participants on how to find, tell and distribute stories.
This session targets SPOs, as well as intermediaries and funders that work in support of SPOs, including around impact measurement and storytelling.
The masterclass is an in-depth follow-up to the introductory
session on ‘Impact Measurement & Digital Storytelling’,
happening 26 February at the AVPN Myanmar Social Investment Forum.

Rebecca Lim Head, Our Better World (OBW) OBW is a digital storytelling initiative that leverages the power of stories and digital media for social impact. She leads her team and a regional network of impact storytellers to tell stories of people doing good in Asia. The aim is to inspire online audiences to take action, so that the subjects of their stories (non-profits and social enterprises) get the help they need to impact more lives. Rebecca’s experience spans strategic communications, integrated marketing, public relations and brand management. Her experience over the last two decades has been in the sectors of her twin passions – tourism and non-profit. After a life changing three-year stint in Mumbai, she now applies her marketing and communications skills to impact lives through digital storytelling. |
