Global warming, toxic waste pollutions, deforestation… Environmental issues are always close to the heart of mankind. Against the backdrop of a global environmental deterioration, social innovation becomes an important force to address and solve various issues and to work towards sustainable development.
In our first investment showcase webinar, we are introducing two social enterprises in the environment space. This will be part of a series of investment showcase webinars which we will be introducing in the next few months.
In addition to the investment showcase, we will invite two AVPN members Nexus-Carbon for Development and Golden Gate Ventures to talk about Carbon Financing and Technology and the Internet in the realm of social innovations.
About the Social Enterprises:
Nazava Water Filters enables households to purify their well, tap or rain water without the need to boil or use electricity. The filtered drinking water is 3x cheaper than boiling and 9x cheaper than buying drinking water. Besides increasing savings, the filtered water is also safer than boiling. Hence, Nazava improves health, increases savings and reduces CO2 emissions. Nazava Water Filters is supported by Nexus Carbon for Development to access carbon financing.
Kabadiwalla Connect is an information service that helps you handle your recyclable waste responsibly. We connect you to your local scrap-dealer, and track how much waste is being recycled in your neighbourhood.
These social enterprises are supported by two of our AVPN members:
