About this event

With China’s growing economic prosperity, there has been increasing emphasis in giving back to society. While most giving models are still traditionally grounded, there is growing interest to engage deeper and strategically deploy resources.

To meet this rising trend, AVPN would like to provide key practical tools for social investors to consider getting started in Venture Philanthropy.  Venture Philanthropy is the practice of strategic philanthropy with a long term outlook, which combines financial and non-financial resources.

Case Study: Inspiring Scotland,
a Venture Philanthropy (VP) Fund

This interactive workshop will focus on how the VP fund defined its theory of change as well as explore specific investment opportunities and challenges.

Through presentations and discussions, participants will be able to:

– Define the cause / theme that your organization would like to focus on
– Examine methods to conduct due diligence and select grantees
– Review portfolio case studies and discuss potential risks and opportunities
– Evaluate impact measurement indicators
