AVPN October Webinar: Leveraging Public-Private Collaboration Opportunities for Social Innovation in Cities

Event details
  • October 18th, 2018, 03:00 PM - 04:00 PM
  • Country: Online

Unprecedented forces of globalization continue to change the pace and scale at which innovation impacts the everyday. The role of social innovation has never proven more critical given the pace at which technology is used as a force for good. Yet, the task of being innovative is too daunting to rest merely on the shoulders of social entrepreneurs. Policy actors have an incentive to support an enabling environment for which social innovation can be scaled and used to solve challenging and intractable social issues. Traditionally rigid government structures can look to creating a safe space for innovation and experimentation while maintaining its neutrality and allowing market forces to move undisturbed.

Hear from AVPN members on different approaches and experiences in collaborating with city governments to build the social innovation ecosystem. Learn from practitioner-oriented examples of how the government and private sector can leverage on each other’s strengths to bring about systemic change in social innovation.

This AVPN webinar will:

  • Share approaches on incentivising cross-sector stakeholders to collectively address social and environmental issues
  • Highlight KPMG Taiwan‘s initiatives to support the development of a social innovation ecosystem in Taiwan
  • Hear from other Asia-Pacific markets on the various examples of the public and private sector collaborating to scale social innovation to maximize impact
