Profile of Discussion Leaders
Neera Nundy, Co-CEO & Co-Founder, Dasra
Neera plays a crucial role in bringing managerial skills, knowledge and analysis to the sector. She incubated the Dasra Social-Impact program, a highly successful executive education program for social entrepreneurs, enabling over 150 social organizations to receive over INR 27.5 crores in funding. Neera also has written and published 7 sector research reports including Making the Grade, Nourishing our Future and Leveraging the Dividend. She has enabled portfolio organizations such as SMV Wheels, Sabras and SNEHA to refine their strategies and accelerate their growth by 20 – 30x. Neera holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School, is an Aspen Institute Fellow and sits on the Board of Mann Deshi and Jaipur Virasaat Foundation.
Ganesh Rengaswamy, Managing Director, Lok Capital
Ganesh joined Lok Capital, a leading venture capital fund investing in base of pyramid opportunities, in 2010. In his last role, Ganesh was India and SE Asia Country Director for Unitus Inc., heading the organization´s Asia initiatives and team of consultants, advising Unitus partners and serving on the global senior management team. Before joining Unitus, Ganesh was co-founder of Travelguru (now a Travelocity company), the leading online travel company for hotels and vacations in India and South Asia. Ganesh holds a Bachelor´s degree in engineering from IT-BHU/IIT Varanasi, a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and a graduate degree in finance and systems strategy from IIM-Kolkata.
Naveen Jha, Director, Deshpande Foundation
Naveen Jha is Director of the Deshpande Foundation. He joined the Deshpande Foundation in 2007, and since then has led the development and growth of the Foundation’s India programs, primarily the Sandbox initiative. As part of his work, Naveen is engaged in building strategic collaborations with government as well as national and local partners in order to build the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Naveen is founder of TiE-Hubli and of a US-based non-profit organization called Action Exchange.
Simon Chadwick, Chief Executive Officer, AVPN
Simon Chadwick is CEO at AVPN. He was previously a partner at a global private equity fund placement group and founded his own private equity advisory firm. Before that he worked for the Schroder Group for 12 years in a range of marketing, business development and management roles. He worked on a pro bono basis at Impetus Trust in 2005 where he supported the fund raising and business development of this pioneering, London-based venture philanthropy fund. He has previously lived and worked in Asia for 8 years.
