About the Demystifying Social Impact Careers conference series
All around the world, more and more people are increasingly questioning traditional career paths and wondering how to choose a career so that they don’t need to choose between making a living and making a difference. Indians too are looking for a career with a purpose, one that makes an impact, utilizes their core skill set, and also lets them earn a living.
However, there is a dearth of knowledge, information, and awareness about the career options available on this ‘unconventional’ route.
While the widespread notions such as social impact careers mean low-pay, insubstantial work or a break from the ‘real world work’ exist, they do not take into account the dramatic evolution of the sector and the numerous opportunities that exist. The ‘Demystifying Social Impact Careers’ conference series aims to challenge these notions by curating insightful conversations around the transformation of the social impact sector, debunking social impact career myths and discussing what the future means for those working in this space.
In a collaborative effort, Arthan, Amani Institute and The International Innovation Corps launched an innovative conference series where thought leaders and practitioners in the social impact sector come together to discuss career options, leadership skills, human capital opportunities and ways to solve the challenges in the social impact sector. The conference allows for interaction and networking opportunities with leaders in the social impact sector and showcases the range of exciting and promising opportunities that provide something over and beyond a job – making a living while making a difference.
After two successful editions in Delhi (April 2019) and Bengaluru (September 2019), the third edition of the Demystifying Social Impact Careers conference series is going to Mumbai with curated discussions, roundtables and conversations around the entering the social impact sector, making a living and learnings from the past to find solutions for the future.
