Engaging with Venture Philanthropy in China
As China’s social sector continues to develop, bringing in different players and methodologies, more sophisticated forms of philanthropy and social investing are also being explored. Venture philanthropy, a relatively new term, is a strategic way of doing philanthropy, which tries to address systemic problems and helps organisations achieve sustainability whilst requiring a high level of engagement from donors.
Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) is a membership-based organization consisting of foundations, wealth asset management firms, corporations, and research universities and institutes that are all interested in furthering venture philanthropy and innovative ways of addressing social issues in Asia.
Join the founding chairman, Doug Miller, and executive vice-chair, Andrew Muirhead, as they share how corporations can engage in venture philanthropy, not only through financial investment but also through human capital and CSR efforts. They will also share AVPN’s plans in China and its work in the social eco-system in Asia.
