International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts, and has supported research for development across Asia for more than a decade. IDRC focuses on turning evidence into stronger programmes, smarter policies, and more inclusive, sustainable development outcomes.
IDRC is partnering with AVPN to convene this roundtable, bringing together leading Asian philanthropies to explore how research can be more intentionally embedded into funding strategies — not as an add-on, but as a driver of effectiveness and systems change.
What To Expect
This invite-only, closed-door discussion is designed for funders seeking to deepen their impact across education, health, climate action, agriculture, and related issue areas in Asia. Participants will:
- Learn from IDRC case studies showing how research investments have strengthened programmes and transformed sectors
- Connect and exchange perspectives with other leading Asian philanthropies on collaborating to drive measurable, long-term outcomes
- Explore research for development (R4D) as a practical, solutions-driven approach that supports innovation, policy influence, and gain insight into how flexible collaboration with IDRC can complement and scale up impact on your existing initiatives
