“Good Society Expo” was developed from the Sharing Society Festival (Khon Thai Khor Mue Noi), which was originated based on the fact from several researches, including “Khon Thai Monitor”, that a large amount of Thais are prompt to join social activities but do not know where or how to start. The main purpose of the expo, first time of a kind in Thailand, is to strive for results by collaborating among networks in the various areas of social movement and the general public. This is to confirm that everyone can be the “Active Citizen” in helping tackle the social issues.
The “Good Society Expo” is a collaboration of more than 50 social organizations including Social Innovation Foundation, Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT), Yuvabadhana Foundation, Enlive Foundation, Volunteer Spirit Network, Thailand Collaborations for Change Project, For Khon Thai Foundation, Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, CentralWorld Shopping Plaza, etc. The “Good Society Expo” is considered the largest volunteer platform in Thailand so far.
This year, the “Good Society Expo” is focusing on five major issues, consisting of Education, Anti-Corruption, Environment, Health, People with Limited Capacity and Aging Citizen, plus several platforms for Innovative Giving concepts which would be accommodating, accelerating the solutions in five areas above, and finally helping them to create materialized impacts. Each issue is also in needs of human capital (volunteers) or financial capital.
Besides, in 2017, Good Society Expo has expanded the collaboration to the regional level by partnering with Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN); an organization that is catalyzing a vibrant and high-impact philanthropy and social investment community in Asia through more strategic and collaborative approaches. The AVPN Conference will be held during 7-9 June 2017 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Pleonchit. This event will be a platform to expand collaboration opportunities and knowledge sharing in relation to sustainable development through social investment. The content in both Good Society Expo and AVPN Conference will be designed to sync and complement each other in a long run.
