Abstract:
On 19 April 2017, President Xi Jinping announced aims to develop China’s ports for China to build a strong maritime economy. In recent years, Singapore, as a maritime nation, has been navigating an increasingly complex regional maritime security landscape. In the 4th SMU-Stratagem Group Sino-Singapore Dialogue on 22 September 2017, themed “The growth of maritime nations along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”, we seek to understand China’s ascent as a maritime nation, its role in Asia-Pacific security and maritime affairs, and the maritime relationship between China and Singapore, and the Southeast Asia region.
We have brought together leading scholars, government and business leaders to provide insights on these issues.

2017年4月19日，中国国家主席习近平指出要建设好北部湾港口，打造好向海经济。新加坡至今也一直面向海洋发展，意识到维护亚太地区海上安全形势的重要性。在2017 年9月22日的第四届SMU-Stratagem Group《中新合作论坛》- 建设二十一世纪海上丝绸之路的海洋强国，论坛将探讨中国在建设海洋强国的蓝图中，如何推动中国-东盟命运共同体建设，维护亚太地区海上安全治理及大力开展中国与二十一世纪海上丝绸之路沿线国家的海洋经济合作。
作为一个中新交流平台，新加坡管理大学（新大）与Stratagem Group（思睿集团有限公司）携手在第四届SMU-Stratagem Group《中新合作论坛》让政商学界齐聚一堂，向参与者分享他们对中国与新加坡、东南亚合作关系的见解。
