Profiles of Discussion Leaders
Wolfgang Hafenmayer, Managing Partner, LGT Venture Philanthropy
Wolfgang is the Managing Partner of LGT Venture Philanthropy. Wolfgang was previously an investment manager with BonVenture and helped set up Forma Futura, a sustainable asset management company. Previously, he was the executive director of the IT and management consulting firm Consileon and also worked for the consultancy Bain & Company. Wolfgang interviewed 230 social entrepreneurs, politicians and scientists in 26 countries to write his book “Die Zukunftsmacher”. Wolfgang Hafenmayer holds a degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Calvin Chin, CEO, Schoenfeld Foundation
Calvin is the CEO of Schoenfeld Foundation and was previously founder and CEO of Qifang. He has worked in entrepreneurial and leadership roles in education, banking and technology startups in New York, Silicon Valley and Shanghai. He is a Social Innovation Park Fellow, was named 2009 Chinese Business Leader of the Year by Horasis and Baker & McKenzie and one of Fast Company magazine’s 100 Most Creative People In Business for 2011. Calvin is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and serves on its Global Agenda Council on Social Innovation. He has an MBA from TRIUM (NYU, LSE, HEC Paris), a B.A. from Yale University and has also studied at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and INSEAD.
Philo Alto, Founder, Asia Value Advisors
Philo is the founder of Asia Value Advisors, a Hong Kong-based philanthropic advisory firm which provides bespoke philanthropy advisory services. With nearly 20 years of experience, Philo has worked at firms such as Goldman Sachs, A.T. Kearney, and Citigroup in multiple roles. He received degrees at Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School (MBA/MPA), a master degree in Industrial Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific, and bachelor degrees in physics and computer engineering at Ateneo University. He is a consultant to the RS Group, advisor to Citi Private Bank, and Senior Advisor to Sow Asia Foundation.
Kevin Teo, COO, AVPN
Kevin is the COO of AVPN. Prior to that, he was a Co-Founder of Volans, and was previously Head of East and Southeast Asia at the Schwab Foundation of Social Entrepreneurship and Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum. Prior to that, Kevin had a nine year stint in the enterprise software arena in Silicon Valley. Kevin is a Trustee of the Southeast Asian Service Leadership Network (SEALNet), and is also Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the NUS Business School’s Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. Kevin graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with an MS in Information Networking, and holds a BEng with Honors in Computing from Imperial College, London.
