Impact Hub Singapore is turning 5 this year and we’re celebrating it by hosting an event on SWITCH. We chose the topic of Tech X Humanity.
Meta Conversations: Tech and Humanity explores the important ideas around technology and humanity. We question the purpose of human life and the impact of new deep technologies on us. What does it mean to our identity as ‘human’ in a post-labour, post-democracy and post-capitalism world? Artificial Intelligence and robots – will we co-exist or be replaced? How should large corporates and venture capitalists prepare for this?
Highlights of the events are below:
- The opening keynote will be from Scott Hartley, the best-selling author of ‘The Fuzzy and The Techie’, a Presidential Innovation Fellow under Obama’s White House – he will convince us that the future needs both the ‘philosopher’ and the ‘techie’
- Piyush Gupta (CEO of DBS) and Peng T. Ong (Monk’s Hill Venture) will be put on the hot seat to debate on whether ‘corporates, tech and humanity will converge or conflict’ in the future, and how large corporates prepare for a singularity world.
- Øyvind Roti, APAC Head – Solutions, Google Cloud will be sharing machine learning projects at Google and how startups can work with them.
- With the recent news on Uber and Google, we will discuss ‘Culture and Humanity in Tech Unicorns’ with AirBnb, Twilio and Uber on the panel.
