The New Gen Accelerator Program is a university-designed course for people at the beginning of their philanthropic journey. A partnership between Philanthropy Australia and Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the program provides comprehensive guidance through the Australian philanthropic landscape via QUTs cutting edge learning design and the invaluable networks of Philanthropy Australia’s membership. The group will learn:
- how to embed philanthropy into their lives;
- how to show leadership and work collaboratively with directors, relatives and other philanthropists; and
- how to find their style of philanthropy; what to give to and how to give.
This course is designed for people in their 20’s and 30’s who are engaged in giving. This includes:
- Next generation family foundation members
- Young people of wealth
- Philanthropic and Corporate Foundation Staff, trustees and networks
The course is presented through a mixture of online and face-to-face content with the goal to create a community of practice in which people learn together and create relationships that last throughout their philanthropic life. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end and optional credits towards graduate studies (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) at QUT.

Join us for a taste of what’s to come & work with us to co-design the New Gen Accelerator Program (NGAP).
These sessions will cover a few of the current trends and issues in philanthropy, so you can ‘try before you buy’ the NGAP. You’ll also have the floor, so you can tell us what you would like to learn, how you would like to learn and the most effective way that you could demonstrate your new skills and knowledge.
If you are interested or would like to refer the course to any of your networks, please get in touch with Vicki Norton at [email protected]. You can also click here to Apply Now for Melbourne or Sydney.
