AVPN is happy to invite you to join the Open Call for Application Session for the APAC Sustainability Seed Fund on 9th November 2022 at 10:00am SGT (GMT+8).
The Asia Pacific region, especially low lying and small island countries, is extremely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change such as extreme precipitation events, heat waves, rising sea levels, and loss of biodiversity. The APAC Sustainability Seed Fund is a new landmark initiative catalyzed by AVPN with the support of Google.org and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as the strategic and outreach partner of the fund, that aims to accelerate sustainability in Asia Pacific.
This USD $3M fund will provide funding opportunities to support innovative solutions led by non-profit organisations in combating climate change and driving sustainable development across the Asia Pacific region. The fund will help to scale up initiatives and solutions that help vulnerable and underserved communities in eleven (11) markets – Australia, India, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong – to adapt and mitigate the detrimental effects of climate change.
The fund will provide grants to support scaling up non-profit innovations in the following areas:
- Increasing access to renewable energy/decarbonisation efforts
- Adaptation to the effects of climate change
- Biodiversity protection
- Water preservation
- Circular economy
- Air quality
- Waste management
