The Perennial Gathering is an invitation-only leadership convening that brings together 300 leaders from around the world—social innovators, philanthropists, ecosystem builders, and changemakers—for a one-of-a-kind experience integrating conference exchange, leadership development, and personal renewal.
Held in Karuizawa, Japan, the 2026 Gathering represents a significant moment for global leadership dialogue in Asia. While many global convenings remain centered in North America and Europe, the Perennial Gathering seeks to shift that geography by bringing a truly international community into an Asian setting. By doing so, the Gathering aims to elevate Asia’s role in shaping global conversations on leadership, systems change, and sustainable impact.
The program is intentionally designed to move beyond traditional conference formats. Participants engage in peer-led dialogue, small cohort exchanges, and facilitated reflection that prioritize trust, depth, and cross-sector collaboration. The result is not simply an event, but a relational space where leaders can connect across geographies, learn from one another’s contexts, and cultivate the resilience needed to sustain long-term change.
For members of the AVPN community who are working at the intersection of philanthropy, social investment, and systems transformation, the Perennial Gathering offers an opportunity to participate in a diverse global network while contributing to a new chapter of leadership convening rooted in Asia.
