AVPN will be organising a sharing session with Korean government officials in Seoul on successful models of scale on government collaboration with the social sector on social innovation projects. This workshop will feature Paul Carttar, founding director of the US Social Innovation Fund, and Andrew Muirhead, AVPN’s vice-chair, demonstrating case studies from the US and UK models. This workshop is aimed for foundation and government leaders and practitioners.
About the speakers
Paul Carttar is partner and co-founder of The Bridgespan Group, his areas of specialism are social innovation, enhancing the effectiveness of philanthropy, and scaling solutions that work. Paul will share the successes and failures of the Social Innovation Fund and draw on his more recent career experience to suggest “what next” for social finance, as Governments and Social Sectors face up to the challenges of the next 50 years.
Andrew Muirhead will share his wealth of experience starting the first venture philanthropy funds and working with the Scottish government at the organisation he founded- Inspiring Scotland. He will also be able to share on the UK models of Social Impact Bonds and other policies that the government have implemented that helped scale up social innovation within the sector and also mainstreaming it to the corporate sectors.
