About this event

A key challenge for social entrepreneurs is scaling their solutions to achieve greater impact. While commercial entrepreneurs benefit from a deep and supportive ecosystem of venture capital, mentorship, and talent that help them in building robust organisations and conquering their markets, social entrepreneurs are typically dependent on smaller and shorter-term funding based on awards, crowdfunding, or grants.

EVPA (European Venture Philanthropy Association) and Católica Business School  have launched a new edition of Scaling Impact for Social Investors, a unique leadership course designed for senior investors and impact leaders. The aim of the course is for social funders to understand the practical challenges of the different scaling strategies as scale-deep, scale-up, scale-out, network models, open source platforms and system change.

Led by Filipe Santos, Chaired Professor of Social Entrepreneurship, the course focuses on developing frameworks for scaling impact that can be used by social investors, philanthropist, corporations and policymakers. It will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, between 18 and 19 October 2018.
