In partnership with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (ACSEP), AVPN is organising a private roundtable event for members, prospective members and those with a strong interest in venture philanthropy.
Join Andreas Gerber (Founder, Aracari), Koh Lian Hock (CEO, LienAid), Mark Wang (Executive Director, Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia) and Sunit Shrestha (Managing Director, Change Fusion) for a discussion on the “how to” of Venture Philanthropy. This roundtable will be facilitated by Simon Chadwick, CEO of AVPN.

Speaker Profiles
Prior to getting involved in impact investing and venture philanthropy, Andreas played an important role in the field of health care and finance in Switzerland, Europe and the US for many years. He was an Institutional Portfolio Manager in the area of early stage and pre-IPO financing of US and European Life Sciences- and Biotech Companies, and subsequently became CFO of a Swiss Hospital Group near Zürich.Originally a Medical Doctor, Andreas gained “field experience” practising Medicine as an MD in Emerging Market countries for three years, mainly in Guadalajara Mexico, Chile and Argentina. Andreas is a Swiss citizen, but has also lived in the US and Australia. He holds an MD from the University of Zürich, a CFA from the European Financial Analyst Association EFFAS and Swiss Financial Analyst Association SFAA, and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen. |
Mark is currently the Executive Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia (GEPI) based in Jakarta. GEPI supports the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Indonesia through identifying, connecting, and funding entrepreneurs and startups. Previously, Mark worked with Dalberg Advisors supporting private sector development and finance with IFC and UN. He was also a Vice President with Citigroup developing emerging market strategy and in risk management with JPMorgan Chase. |
Sunit is the founder of ChangeFusion. He has raised and managed projects worth over 3 million USD focusing on social innovation development such as Internet-based social technologies as well as sustainable agriculture. ChangeFusion, formerly known as Thai RuralNet, is a World Bank Development Marketplace’s winner. Sunit started off his career with Access Capital, a venture capital firm in Bangkok. He was also a Bloomberg Fellow in Finance and became an Ashoka Fellow in 2009. |
Lian Hock is the Chief Executive of Lien Aid. He is responsible for Lien Aid’s operations in Singapore and overseas offices. Prior to joining Lien Aid, Lian Hock held business development, investment and management positions in commercial sector. |
