Private capital has a critical role to play in ensuring successful delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as investors providing patient and actively managed funding have the ability to drive change at scale and speed. The United Nations estimates that achieving the SDGs will require investment of US$3.9 trillion per year, leaving a financing gap of US$2.5 trillion annually. The resources and expertise of the private sector, including the rapidly growing number of impact investors, will be key to closing this gap.
Join EMPEA at the Sustainable Investing in Emerging Markets Summit where industry-leading speakers and panelists who will draw on personal experience and business case studies, identifying ongoing challenges and outlining solutions. This year’s agenda will offer the opportunity for attendees to join roundtable discussions focusing on key SDGs toward which private capital can play an outsized role in generating impact. The EMPEA Institute will once again present the popular Sustainability and Operational Excellence Challenge at the Summit. EMPEA is currently welcoming fund manager entrants from the EM private capital community to compete in this year’s Challenge. Deadline for this year’s Challenge is 7 September 2018 – contact [email protected] to request the entry form.
