The Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) and Social Ventures Australia (SVA) will organise a roundtable discussion on venture philanthropy in Australia. The event aims to develop interest in funding venture philanthropy. Andrew Muirhead, AVPN’s Executive Vice Chairman, will join the roundtable as a guest speaker.
Following an initial career in Banking, Andrew has been involved in the Philanthropic sector since 1993 and led Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland as Chief Executive until 2008. He then founded Inspiring Scotland, an innovative venture philanthropy organisation designed and developed in response to the needs of Scotland’s not-for-profit sector. By providing significant long term funding and development support, Inspiring Scotland enables organisations to work towards self-sustainability and deliver maximum impact with a social return. It enjoys wide support from Government, Business, Charitable Trusts and Private Individuals including a number of Scotland’s leading entrepreneurs. Andrew currently leads the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN). With more than 180 members from 28 countries, the AVPN has created and continues to grow a diverse network of organisations practicing and supporting venture philanthropy in the Asia Pacific region.
