This is the second installment of the AVPN Opportunities in Gender Lens Investing: Indonesia series, with a focus on women entrepreneurs. In partnership with Investing in Women, an initiative by the Australian government, this series will highlight the importance of gender lens investing for building resilience in Indonesia following the COVID-19 pandemic.

This session follows the first on 16 June, which sets the scene on gender lens investing and how it drives value for investors in Indonesia.

Julia joined Investing in Women in November 2016 after spending 9 years as CEO of CARE Australia, one of Australia’s largest humanitarian and development organisations.Over her career in international development, Julia has held various senior positions including Assistant Director General in AusAID and Advisor at the Board of the World Bank.

Dini Indrawati Septiani is the Indonesia Director leading AVPN activities in developing the social investment ecosystem in Indonesia, a country that has an archipelago of 17 thousand with 270 million of total Indonesia Population. In this strategic region, she lead the development of Indonesia Social Investment ecosystem of AVPN Indonesia from strategy, operational, funding aspects and focus on promoting partnerships and innovative collaboration as the key enablers of a sustainable future in Indonesia. Her background of 21 years experiences in Financial, Social Enterprises and INGO in Japan, Indonesia and Singapore has equipped her with a unique set of skills and perspectives that helps her to build a strong engagement with Indonesia Government and also attract dozens of social impact players leveraging everything from grants to debt and equity across the continuum of capital especially in Indonesia.

Dini completed her master’s degree in Psychology with the area of concentration in Social Intervention from the University of Indonesia and she has been selected as an Eisenhower Fellowship 2020 Women’s Leadership Program and also as Obama Leader – Asia Pacific Program in 2019 and has been recognized as one of Indonesia Youngstering from SWA Magazine, and also her passion beyond career choices as an Iron Man, Marathoner, and Diver.

Previously had a 10 years career with ExxonMobil and was consistently ranked in the top tier in performance appraisals every year. Last position was as Manager of Financial Planning – Head of Treasurer’s Dept. at ExxonMobil in Indonesia.
