The only regional awards initiative recognizing exemplary private sector action for gender equality aligned to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), the 2021 cycle received over 700 applications from 20 countries across Asia and the Pacific region.
For the 2022 WEPs Awards, the nominees will be recognized across 6 categories:
– Leadership Commitment
– Youth Leadership
– Gender-inclusive Workplace
– Gender-responsive Marketplace
– Community Engagement & Partnerships
– Transparency & Reporting
Each category will award a Winner, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up. While a business of any size or sector is eligible to be awarded, this year we will also award 3 additional SME Champions!
The WEPs Awards are organized by WeEmpowerAsia, a UN Women programmed funded by the European Union aiming to increase the number of women who participate and lead in businesses in the Asia-Pacific. Following the successful partnership in 2021 with Investing in Women (IW), the 2022 Awards has the continued support of the Australian Government.
