About this event

To mark Women’s Entrepreneurship Day 2020 on 19th November, UNDP Asia-Pacific’s Youth Co:Lab team and Gender team are hosting a joint webinar on‘Unlocking the potential of young women entrepreneurs in Asia Pacific’.

Entrepreneurship is a powerful catalyst through which young women in Asia-Pacific can generate jobs for themselves and their peers, tackle challenges faced by their communities, and drive inclusive growth, gender equality and sustainable development. However, young women in Asia-Pacific face many interconnected barriers that constrain their participation in entrepreneurship and thereby their potential as agents of change in their communities and societies.

During the event we will hear from young female entrepreneurs and ecosystem actors from across Asia-Pacific who will share their first-hand experiences on the higher barriers that young women face, the multiplier effects of investing in women entrepreneurs, and the actions that are needed to make entrepreneurship ecosystems more inclusive.
