What

What is the Fellowship about?

The Fellowship will bring together 20-25 of the most innovative impact investors from across Asia-Pacific who are looking to develop a smarter portfolio for greater financial and social returns in the region through gender lens investing. It aims to equip participants with the know-how to recognise new investment opportunities using gender lens analysis, advocate for GLI within their organisation and investor networks, and to advance participants’ leadership skills by introducing practical guidance for investing with a gender lens. Fellows will accomplish this while being plugged into a global network of the most connected gender-forward financial experts and leaders.

Why

Why is it necessary?

Across the globe, there is a growing awareness that incorporating gender considerations into investment strategy and process is not only the right thing to do, but also the smart thing to do. Applying a gender lens to investment has been proven in every market to create the opportunity to achieve both better financial returns and greater impact outcomes by further realising the potential of women as consumers, entrepreneurs, and employees, enhancing investment risk assessment and management, empowering women in leadership and employment, and expanding economic growth by opening up consumer, supply chain and entrepreneurial opportunities for women.

At the same time, asset owners and wealth managers in Asia-Pacific are lacking the specific tools, examples, knowledge, and community of support that would allow them to take advantage of the latest developments and implement a gender lens in their work.

The AVPN GLI Fellowship addresses investor demand to deepen their understanding of gender as a tool for uncovering business and investment opportunity, and provides pathways for key investors in the region to integrate a gender lens into their investment strategy and process.

Who

Who should apply?

The Fellows will consist of a competitively selected cohort of Family Office Principals/Directors, Private Equity and Venture Capital Fund managers, Foundation Directors, and NextGen Leaders; those who have access to significant capital, or have responsibility for large investment portfolios and are used to managing the assets of high net worth individuals, families or funds.

HOW

What’s different about our program?

It offers:

  • Accelerated learning tailored for exceptionally capable and experienced investors
  • Real-world case studies and exercises that focus on practical application of GLI
  • Access to thought leaders and key investors who will share their experiences in GLI
  • Recognition for participation in the leading program in Asia-Pacific for innovative gender lens investing
  • Access to a unique cohort of peers leading the charge on GLI and on impact and investing in the region
