Advancing the People-Centric Energy Transition Agenda in APAC

The Asia’s Clean Energy Transition Initiative (ASCENT) is a new initiative spearheaded by AVPN and will focus on building capacity for the ecosystem at large and facilitate the channelling of catalytic capital toward small-scale/early-stage solutions and scale them with direct financing. We aim to leverage the trusted partnerships that we have established in recent years with key policy stakeholders, funders and investors in the ecosystem to build a powerful coalition of actors with a shared commitment to accelerate just energy transition to achieving net zero targets in Asia.

Our commitment to a just energy transition is centred on the principle of fairness—ensuring that both the costs and benefits of the climate transition are shared equitably across all stakeholders

Bridging the Gap in Climate Adaptation Funding for Health in Asia

To close the critical financing gap and accelerate action at the nexus of climate change and public health, AVPN and our partners, anchored by Bayer Foundation, have launched The Climate x Health: Lighthouse for Asia—a catalytic initiative spotlighting high-impact solutions that address the interconnected risks of climate and health across Asia. Anchored by a collaborative USD 5 million pooled fund, The Lighthouse Fund mobilizes global social investors to incubate, validate, and scale innovations that strengthen climate-resilient health systems and build healthier, more climate-adaptive communities. The first round of the Lighthouse Fund focuses on two key impact areas: the surveillance and management of climate-sensitive infectious diseases (CSID), and solutions to reduce heat stress and promote product stability in extreme conditions. By pairing capital with capacity-building, the initiative empowers targeted investments, fosters cross-sector partnerships, and drives long-term impact.

Gendered Impacts of Climate Change

In Asia, climate change exacerbates existing social, economic, and environmental inequalities, with women being disproportionately vulnerable to its impacts. Recognising the crucial role women play in building climate resilience, AVPN has developed a Gender x Climate strategy and initiated dialogues to bring collaborative solutions into the fold that address both climate and gender challenges simultaneously. We aim to catalyse for collaboration and strategic partnerships among leaders in climate and gender action, both in Asia and globally.

SUWASI Project

Under SUWASI project, AVPN and KPMG have entered a partnership aimed to conduct a study to evaluate existing private sector investment challenges in WASH-based enterprises, specifically in used water management, solid waste management, and sanitation and study was carried out through consultations with major debt, equity, and grant investors in the sector, highlighted key policy recommendations to accelerate private capital investments in the WASH sector.

Furthermore, AVPN conducted extensive research on 200 impact organizations working within the sector and created detailed profiles for 22 of shortlisted organizations, capturing their key initiatives, scale up plans, financials and impact created. To further support these efforts, we facilitated a matchmaking series at the AVPN South Asia Summits, connecting these investable projects with potential funders. Additionally, 10 investment-ready impact organizations were showcased on the AVPN Deal Share Platform, amplifying their visibility and helping attract crucial funding opportunities. These engagements empowered impactful partnerships within the WASH ecosystem.

Galvanising Philanthropy and Capital for Asia’s Climate Transition

AVPN’s flagship effort to mobilise philanthropy and capital providers across Asia towards ambitious climate targets. Building on our vision of a thriving regional climate ecosystem, the series convenes leaders from philanthropy, finance, policy, and civil society to exchange knowledge, co-create strategies, and unlock capital flows that accelerate Asia’s climate-resilient future. Through curated events, dialogues, and collaborations, the series aims to bridge gaps in understanding, surface scalable innovations, and galvanise collective action for impact.
