AVPN Climate pathfinders programme
Integrating a Climate Lens into your Organisation
The AVPN Climate Action Platform has taken a transformative step in tackling Asia's pressing climate challenges by launching the AVPN Climate Pathfinders, a comprehensive capacity-building programme tailored for decision-makers, philanthropic organisations, climate experts, and funders.
Leveraging insights from previous workshops, AVPN has elevated the Climate Pathfinder Workshop into a flagship programme, strategically designed to close these gaps. The programme aims to foster a shared understanding of climate action, equip participants with critical tools and knowledge, and drive meaningful, measurable change across the region.
To date, AVPN has successfully engaged over 200 Climate Pathfinders, and brought together thought leaders, CSR, impact funds, financial institutions, experts and philanthropic organisations to address climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience in emerging economies. These interactions have not only facilitated forward-thinking discussions but also illuminated key gaps funders face when navigating climate philanthropy.

Foster a common understanding of climate intersectionality in Asia.

Capacity Building

Understanding the Barriers and Opportunities for Climate Action in Asia
The programme combines a one-day in-person workshop with three curated webinar sessions, designed to strengthen climate capacity across China and the wider Asian region. Built on insights from the AVPN Climate Roundtable in Hong Kong (April 2023), it responds to the urgent call for collaboration and action in tackling climate challenges.
The workshop will centre on catalytic capital, just transition, measurable outcomes, people-centred solutions, and cross-industry partnerships—enabling participants to exchange best practices, engage with experts, and translate learnings into locally relevant policy action. The subsequent webinar series extends this journey, providing deeper knowledge, peer learning, and practical guidance to support participants in building long-term, context-driven roadmaps for sustainable climate action.

Scaling Domestic Climate Philanthropy in India
The AVPN Climate Action Platform launched its first Climate Capacity Building Programme for decision-makers of philanthropic organisations and grant-making bodies on 17–18 January 2023.
The programme was designed to reimagine climate funding through the lens of intersectionality, improve understanding of climate action, and build capacity for integrating climate considerations into organisational strategies. By cross-pollinating regionally relevant ideas and concepts, participants engaged in peer learning and built a shared understanding of climate action in India.
This pioneer cohort of AVPN Climate Pathfinders was equipped with tools and knowledge to demystify the intricacies of climate intersectionality and effectively embed climate action into their theory of change. Leveraging AVPN’s extensive resources and reputation, the programme also provided opportunities to influence the regional policy agenda and enable more effective deployment of capital toward climate solutions.
