Asia Gender Equality Fund (AGEF)

The Asia Gender Equality Fund is a pooled fund that mobilises capital to advance gender equality across Asia, with a strong focus on women’s economic empowerment. It supports high-impact organisations working to address systemic barriers across markets, finance, care, and safety.

By bringing together funders, partners, and practitioners, the Fund aims to strengthen and scale solutions that drive lasting, inclusive change across the region.

Women’s Economic Empowerment Feature on ImpactCollab

ImpactCollab is AVPN’s digital platform designed to connect high-impact organisations with funders and partners, enabling more transparent, efficient, and strategic capital deployment across Asia’s social sector.

Within this platform, the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Feature spotlights a curated pipeline of organisations advancing gender equality through economic empowerment. These organisations are addressing critical gaps across livelihoods, decent work, access to finance, and inclusive systems, grounded in the realities of the communities they serve.

The WEE Feature is designed to make high-quality, due-diligenced opportunities more visible to funders, while supporting organisations to access the financial and non-financial resources needed to scale their impact.

Climate Resilient Communities

In Asia, climate change exacerbates existing social, economic, and environmental inequalities, with women being disproportionately vulnerable to its impacts. Recognising the crucial role women play in building climate resilience, AVPN has developed a Gender x Climate strategy and initiated dialogues to bring collaborative solutions into the fold that address both climate and gender challenges simultaneously.

We aim to catalyse for collaboration and strategic partnerships among leaders in climate and gender action, both in Asia and globally.

Gender Responsive Health Systems

Recognising the central role of gender in shaping health outcomes, AVPN is advancing a Gender x Health approach that addresses systemic barriers across prevention, access, and care. Through targeted initiatives in cervical cancer, urban health systems, and maternal and child nutrition, we bring together governments, philanthropists, and partners to co-create solutions that are both gender-responsive and locally grounded.

We aim to catalyse collaboration and strategic partnerships that strengthen health systems, close critical gaps, and improve the well-being of women and girls across Asia.

Tackling Gender Based Violence (GBV)

Gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most pervasive barriers to gender equality and women’s economic empowerment across Asia. Despite significant progress in financing for SDG 5, GBV continues to receive disproportionately low attention, particularly from private and philanthropic capital.

At AVPN, we view tackling GBV as both a moral imperative and a strategic investment. By mobilising diverse forms of capital, strengthening data and evidence, and fostering cross-sector collaboration, we aim to shift GBV from an underfunded issue to a core priority within the gender equality agenda. Our approach focuses on catalysing scalable, evidence-based solutions that create safer environments for women and girls across homes, communities, and economies.

Our report Accelerating Gender Equality: Financing for SDG5 in the APAC region (bolden title) provides a landscape analysis of the volume and trends on financing for gender equality in 17 countries in APAC across four key thematic areas: Economic Empowerment, Health, Climate Vulnerability, and Tackling Gender Based Violence. This report offers a comprehensive overview of the current financing landscape for SDG 5 across Asia and delves into region specific analysis that highlights financing gaps across the 4 thematic areas.

Asia Gender Network

The Asia Gender Network is the first pan-Asian network committed to mobilising capital for gender equality. We currently have AGN members across 12 markets who support a range of causes from education, healthcare and gender justice to women’s entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.

Climate Pathfinders

The Climate Pathfinders Programme is a comprehensive capacity-building programme tailored for decision-makers, philanthropic organisations, climate experts, and funders. The programme aims to foster a shared understanding of climate action, equip participants with critical tools and knowledge, and drive meaningful, measurable change across the region.

To date, AVPN has successfully engaged over 200 Climate Pathfinders, and brought together thought leaders, CSR, impact funds, financial institutions, experts and philanthropic organisations to address climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience in emerging economies.

Women’s Economic Empowerment Leaders Community

The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Leaders Community is AVPN’s regional platform bringing together funders and civil society leaders across Asia to advance gender equality through more coordinated, strategic, and grounded action.

Spanning India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, the community connects philanthropists, philanthropy professionals, next generation leaders, and CSO practitioners who are shaping the WEE landscape from both the funding and implementation sides. The WEE Leaders Community creates a platform for shared understanding, peer learning, and collective action. It enables funders to better align resources with real needs on the ground, while ensuring that CSO leaders are not working in isolation but as part of a visible, supported, and connected regional network.
