Health Impact Platform
Driving Asian Leadership, Mobilising Capital Towards Health
OVERVIEW
Addressing Urgent Healthcare Challenges
Asia is at a tipping point. Critical health challenges threaten the well-being of billions, demanding urgent and decisive action. In response to these urgent challenges, the Health Impact Platform will help to catalyse capital, strengthen health systems, and address these pressing health crises head-on. The AVPN Health Impact Platform is designed to harness the leadership of Asia and strategically channel capital towards strengthening health systems across the region. By facilitating impactful partnerships between stakeholders, the platform focuses on addressing critical health challenges while fostering regional solutions for global sustainability.

Continuum of Capital
The platform creates opportunities for partnerships among social investors within Asia, ensuring a steady flow of capital to support and scale health initiatives across the region.
Asian Leadership
By elevating the contributions of Asian leaders, the platform highlights the region’s unique role in advancing global health sustainability.
Intersectionality
Recognising the interconnectedness of climate, gender, and health, the platform emphasises the need for integrated solutions that address these overlapping challenges.

Mobilising Capital Towards Nutrition in Asia
Undernutrition is a key factor in nearly half of all deaths of children under five globally, and Asia bears the heaviest burden of all forms of this devastating issue, threatening the survival, growth, and future potential of millions. Despite economic growth across the region, nutrition remains underfunded due to its perceived complexity and long-term nature.
To address this pressing challenge, AVPN is spearheading efforts to channel philanthropic capital into maternal and child nutrition initiatives with the support of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation and the Eleanor Crook Foundation. Through targeted outreach, meaningful donor engagement, and collaborative learning opportunities, AVPN aims to cultivate a strong network of philanthropists dedicated to addressing malnutrition across Asia.
Partners
Asia Cervical Cancer Financing Platform
To support the ambitious plan laid out by Govt of Indonesia AVPN has launched the Cervical Cancer Financing Platform, which will raise awareness, support government strategies, and educate philanthropic partners on disease burden and economic loss.
To pilot the platform, we are supporting a Technical Assistance Facility in Indonesia, a country with a high disease burden, to complement a World Bank loan to amplify government efforts. This initiative will specifically target the 21-26 year old catch-up cohort, potentially accelerating elimination timelines by 10 years.
Urban Health Systems Strengthening
AVPN, supported by Bayer and in partnership with The Challenge Initiative (TCI), is committed to transforming health systems across South & Southeast Asia to enhance the health and well-being of women and girls.
Through this strategic collaboration, we aim to scale high-impact solutions in family planning, reproductive health, and maternal and child health to drive sustainable improvements in communities across the region. By mobilising resources, engaging key stakeholders, and empowering local health systems, we will work together to create lasting change and improve the lives of those who need it most.
Partners
Lighthouse Fund
At the core of this initiative is the Lighthouse Fund, the first of its kind in Asia dedicated to bridging the financing gap between climate and health. The Fund provides financing and capacity-building support to strengthen ecosystems where climate–health innovations can thrive.
Through the Fund, we have supported five pioneering organisations in Asia addressing two key impact areas: Surveillance and management of climate-sensitive infectious diseases (CSID) and Solutions to reduce heat stress and promote product stability in extreme conditions. By pairing capital with capacity-building, the initiative empowers targeted investments, fosters cross-sector collaboration, and drives long-term impact.
Building on this momentum, we launched the Climate x Health Community of Practice — a solution-driven network uniting solution providers, funders, innovators, and policymakers to scale climate–health solutions. Guided by three strategic pathways — Unlocking Commercial Investment, Enabling Government Scale-Up, and Mobilizing Large-Scale Philanthropic Capital — the community moves beyond sharing ideas to collective action: aligning efforts, capital, and purpose to create a healthier, more resilient Asia.
Partners
Innovative Financing for Infectious Diseases
The ID sector faces substantial challenges, particularly in transitioning from late-stage research to commercial viability. Traditional financing approaches have struggled to address these gaps, prompting increased interest in mechanisms like blended finance, social impact bonds, and other innovative instruments to attract resources from both private and public sectors. This initiative seeks to identify, assess, and evaluate the scalability and relevance of these financing models to strengthen the infectious disease R&D ecosystem in SA and SEA.
Partners
EquiHealth Alliance
AVPN is driving efforts to combat infectious diseases through the launch of EquiHealth Alliance – a multi stakeholder coalition focusing on dengue in India.
This Alliance brings together diverse stakeholders—including governments (Central, State, Local), CSRs, corporates, social investors, the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and community organizations—to collaboratively address the challenges. The EquiHealth Alliance has been established as an advisory body to lead efforts across the following key workstreams:
- Track A: Prevention, Timely Response, and Behavior Change Communication
- Track B: Data Systems and Surveillance
- Track C: Financing and Resource Mobilization
The EquiHealth Alliance is housed at AVPN, being the secretariat along with ETI as a technical partner, providing administrative and technical support. This affiliation ensures the group operates independently, with credibility and alignment to its objectives of promoting equitable healthcare access.
Undiagnosed Hackathon
This initiative is expected to lead to life-changing diagnoses, increase awareness of undiagnosed diseases as a major public health issue, and create new ideas, tools, and methods to improve diagnostic capabilities across India.

Advancing Access to Medicines in Southeast Asia
AVPN, in partnership with Access Health International, SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, have pledged to embed access to medicines in core strategies and develop an actionable framework for Southeast Asia by working collaboratively and inclusively to drive continuous improvements.
The Southeast Asia Access to Medicines Pledge aims to unite private sector leaders, NGOs, policymakers, patient organizations, academia, and civil society to drive equitable and sustainable access to medicines. We aim to enable policy transformation, elevate community voices and demonstrate actionable progress by supporting the creation of a concrete, measurable roadmap with achievable milestones towards access to medicines in SEA. As a first step, dialogues at conferences in the region led to a position paper on how to improve medicines access, which can be found in the Knowledge Section under Resources. Now, insights will be applied to develop strategies for improving access in collaboration with cross sectional actors.

Youth Mental Wellbeing Initiatives
Asia faces a severe mental health financing gap, with under 3% of health budgets spent — despite a 5% target — resulting in $158 billion in losses and over 80% of funds concentrated in urban areas. To address this, AVPN is growing its efforts in mental health and wellbeing, through collaborative funding and partnerships. Through the Asian Youth Mental Wellbeing Fund initiative, AVPN strengthens and scales transformative impact organisations working to address accessibility to quality, evidence-based mental health services for youth communities in Asia focusing on preventative care and wellbeing. Building on this, AVPN is developing a multi-stakeholder engagement approach to support coordination, and shared accountability for policy implementation — advancing a more integrated and resilient youth mental health ecosystem.
Partners
Strengthening Youth Mental Health Ecosystem in Indonesia
One in three adolescents in Indonesia faces mental health problems—around 15.5 million young people—yet youth mental health initiatives remain fragmented, often limited to pilot stages with minimal evaluation and continuity. Decentralization, with varying governance structures across regions, and insufficient stakeholder collaboration hinder scale-up and sustainability.
To address this, AVPN is developing a multi-stakeholder engagement approach to support coordination and shared accountability for policy implementation in Indonesia. By identifying systemic barriers and opportunities, fostering targeted collaboration, and co-creating culturally appropriate accountability mechanisms, this initiative aims to enhance alignment across key youth mental health actors—advancing a more integrated and resilient youth mental health ecosystem.
