Agronomika Finance Corporation is an innovative financing company with the objective of supporting rural enterprise and agricultural development. Agronomika has developed a unique delivery model to provide value-chain-integrated agriculture finance to smallholder farmers and offers business loans for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in rural value chains.

Through its flagship cacao lending program, Agronomika has provided 650 smallholder farmers the opportunity to establish 1200ha of new cacao farms and plant more than 1 million trees.

Agronomika collaborates with international financing institutions, investors and technology companies as well as global value chain partners to implement this unique and client-centered model.

Focusing on smallholder farmers, low-income households as well as micro and small enterprises as the key target group of its services, Agronomika is dedicated to contribute to rural development in some of Philippine’s poorest regions.

Approach

We deploy philanthropic growth capital primarily using grant-based approaches to organizations with effec-tive, innovative and scalable solutions to social and environmental challenges – implementing solutions that contribute directly to the achievement of the SDGs. We aim to scale both market- and non-market-based solutions, that provide access to essential goods and services, improving the quality of life of disadvantaged people. We also provide non-financial support through transfer of know-how and management skills, and access to our local and global networks. We seek to deploy 100% of our capital to achieve positive and measurable impact.

 

LGT Impact Fellowship

The LGT Impact Fellowship connects our portfolio with business professionals providing know-how and strategic guidance. Our Fellows are seasoned professionals with significant experience, who work inside one of our portfolio organizations or teams for one year on the ground, with the objective to strengthen the organizational capacity of our portfolio with their business skills and know-how.
