Established in 2017, Apon Wellbeing is an omnichannel marketplace to ensure the health and economic wellbeing of low-income industrial workers in Bangladesh. Apon establishes fair price grocery stores inside textile factory premises and sell quality products to workers at up to 10% less than retail price, helping to increase their disposable income. Apon also provides credit facility to the workers at no additional cost. Apon’s customer loyalty program also provides access to zero cash health coverage up to USD 200/year/worker and life coverage for USD 300/worker. All of these are done through a business model where Apon negotiates a higher margin from its suppliers, negotiates free space for shop operation and provides discounts and other benefits to the workers.
