How do you make the world walk more than a mile in your shoes? To show appreciation for art with every step. DOCHAA, a Nepali word for handmade shoes, aims to highlight the country’s art and culture. Every DOCHAA shoe is a symbol of Nepali identity.

Nepal’s art sector was badly affected by the 2015 earthquake. It inspired us to act to preserve local art, and to reconnect youth with traditions.

A social impact enterprise we use traditional fabrics, to produce innovative designs. In collaboration with the local artisans, women’s groups and shoemakers, DOCHAA uses local resources to create one-of-a-kind stylish, comfortable, and durable shoes. We have a dignified and safe working environment for marginalized workers. By creating an extraordinary brand, DOCHAA is redefining the industry and challenging the stigma related to the craft of shoemaking, in Nepal. DOCHAA plans to establish outlets in Nepal and across the world, creating a socially conscious brand that supports local artisans.
