Internet Society

Internet Society is a global nonprofit founded by Internet pioneers in 1992. Our vision is that the Internet is for everyone. Our mission is to support and promote the development of the Internet as a global technical infrastructure, a resource to enrich people’s lives and livelihoods, and a force for good.

Over the past 30 years, our global community has grown to include 96,000 individual members and 132 Chapters and Special Interest Groups in over 100 countries. This network enables us to act globally and locally, positions successful projects for ready replication, and instills our work with a diversity of experiences and perspectives.

Today, we’re working with communities throughout the world to close the digital divide by supporting them in the engagement and development of local capacity to deploy Internet infrastructure, connect those who need it most, and reach areas where traditional providers don’t operate.
