Kherwadi Social Welfare Association

The Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA), set up in 1928 by Late Shri B G Kher, the first Premier of erstwhile Bombay Presidency, is a 90-year-old NGO, working in the field of livelihoods training for underprivileged youth and school dropouts. Through its flagship program, YuvaParivartan, KSWA engages with youth from slums and rural areas, and provides them with training in vocational and other skills and helps them find self or wage based employment.

Our current operations span 18 States in India – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. Till date we have skilled many youth through our 70 centers and more than 5000 camps. Of these, approximately 50% are gainfully employed either through a wage or self-employment.
Yuva Parivartan is one of the few national level NGOs with a proven, scalable and replicable model.

Our vision is to create opportunites for school dropouts and deprived youth to help them lead productive and socially useful lives.  Our mission is to give a second chance to less educated deprived youth through wage or self employment based on urban and rural livelihood training provided in partnership with stakeholders.
