Playeum Ltd

Playeum is an Institute of Public Character (IPC) Charity in Singapore that works with children in developing life skills; confidence, creativity, resilience, using open-ended play and the arts. The approach is child-led; creating safe spaces for the child to ideate, create and problem solve. It is not instructive but open-ended and through our lens of seeing children as creative and competent, we allow for a child’s strengths and abilities to be seen and developed.

We work with all children especially those from marginalised communities and those with varying disabilities.

We also work with the adults that engage with the children – sharing of the approach to teach and learn through open-ended play using recycled everyday materials.

7 Bridges Brewing Company

7 Bridges from Danang, Vietnam is Asia’s IMPACT brewing company, leveraging the power of craft beer for social and environmental impact. Named the champion mid-sized craft brewery (of 90 breweries) in the 2019 Asia Beer Championship, our award winning brewery is a change agent for good.

Launched in 2017, we went from a garage project to a leading craft beer brand in Vietnam producing gold medal beers, establishing the region’s first zero waste brewery, catalyzing direct social and environmental action (and fundraising) and influencing the industry toward sustainable practices and tangible return to our communities.

Our IMPACT platform is deep. We operate a brewery with ZERO water and solid waste. We organize beach cleanups and fundraising events for disabled agent orange victims–rewarding participants for great beer in exchange for their volunteer effort. We now produce a cricket protein beer that is raising funds for wildlife conservation.

Sophie’s Kitchen Pte Ltd

Using our proprietary fermentation technology, we are growing microalgae for food-grade protein using various food waste stream as substrate. The goal is to develop a plant-based protein that is low enough in price to replace soy and nutrient-dense enough to replace most animal protein while leaving minimum environmental impact and having highest economic and social benefits.

International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission (IJM) investigators, lawyers, social workers, community activists and other professionals have collaborated with local law enforcement around the world, to rescue thousands of victims of violence, and work to protect millions more by strengthening their justice systems. IJM’s unique model of Justice System Transformation ensures that we are creating the maximum possible impact to protect the poor from violence. IJM teams around the world combine service to individual victims with dramatic system improvements that benefit all people vulnerable to the crime we are targeting through our casework focus. By pushing individual cases of abuse through the justice system from the investigations to prosecution stage, IJM aims to support the pipeline of public justice system to ensure macro-level changes are happening in conjunction with single convictions of perpetrators and slave owners.

P.T. Bali Seafood International

Bali Seafood International (BSI) has been working for the past 10 years in Indonesia on a project providing industry led reform of small scale local fisheries in a region that is home to approximately 45,000 fishing families. Sitting squarely in the Coral Triangle, BSI, whose parent sponsor is North Atlantic, Inc (NAI), has been able to recruit collaborative partnerships including Indonesian provincial and government agencies, The Nature Conservancy’s California and Indonesia operations, scientists from the Sustainable Fisheries Group from UC Santa Barbara, USAID/IMACS as well as the World Bank to help in the development and implementation of a systematic social and business model for sustainable fishing in this region. NAI, being an industry leader in the sales and distribution of sustainable seafood throughout North America, is providing the real market component to this partnership. BSI’s business model is to efficiently source, process and ship “market ready” sustainable seafood.

SkyCool Systems, Inc.

SkyCool Systems developed a passive rooftop cooling panel, enabled by a patented optical film that cools when outside exposed to the sky. Over their lifetime, our panels save millions of dollars worth of electricity and water when integrated with air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Urchinomics Impact Kyushu

Urchinomics Impact is a kelp forest and ecosystem restoration model that is self-sustaining financially. Urchinomics Impact specifically targets ecologically destructive sea urchins that overgraze kelp forests and turn coastal ecosystems into lifeless, desert-like barrens. The urchins are collected, re-homed in our land-based aquaculture systems, fed a sustainably sourced feed for 6 – 12 weeks, and transformed into delicious “uni” for sale to top tier restaurants globally. By removing the urchins from the sea floor, we help kelp forests recover in as short as 3 months, which in turn improves marine biomass, marine biodiversity, sequesters carbon, protects the ocean from acidification and coastlines from erosion. Revenues from the sales are then reinvested back into urchin removal and kelp restoration efforts.

nornnorn

nornnorn is the world’s first Circular Economy-based mattress subscription (rental) service for hotels, resorts and other hospitality businesses. Our goal is to help eliminate the upfront investment on mattresses, thereby lowering the access barrier to high quality mattresses for hospitality businesses, while at the same time reduce the amount of waste produced by the hospitality industry.

Our subscriptions last between 60 and 120 months, in line with the hospitality industry’s standard mattress replacement cycles. Used mattresses are retrieved, disassembled and recycled/upcycled at the end of every subscription cycle.

We have been now operating in Thailand and Indonesia since mid-2018 and are aiming to expand to other countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Europe in the near future.
