Saturday Kids

At Saturday Kids, students don’t just learn to code. They code to learn.

We cannot teach kids everything there is to know. But what we can do is bring out the curiosity in kids, encourage them to look at problems and think “I can figure this out myself”.

Singapore’s first coding school for kids, since 2012 we have taught over 5000 students how to learn through classes in programming, electronics, digital art and design thinking. In addition to awesome holiday camps and weekly classes, we also collaborate with corporates and non-profit organisations to create access to digital literacy for less privileged kids.

Our social mission has taken us to impact kids as far as Cambodia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. We also run Code in the Community, Singapore’s largest free coding programme for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Universe Simplified Foundation

Universe Simplified Foundation (USF) is a non-profit working on making STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) education accessible to all. We work with 6th to 9th grade students in villages along the Kalyan – Murbad road on the outskirts of Mumbai.

Our “Innovation Hub” programme inculcates real life problem solving skills in students. Over a 4 year period, the students learn mechanical project making (using motors, solar panels, etc.), basic electronics, robotics and computers. Using these STEM skills, students address real life challenges in their local communities. Some of the projects built by our students are a low cost transportation vehicle, automatic hand sanitiser, an obstacle – detecting stick for blind people and a women safety buzzer system.

ATEC Australia International PTY LTD.

ATEC exists to decarbonize cooking at scale in Asia & Africa. 4 billion people still lack access to modern cooking solutions that don’t rely on wood or other biomass. Through ATEC’s patented electric and biogas stove technology, households access paygo debt to affordably finance the stove purchase while simultaneously generating data-validated carbon credits. These dual income streams create ATEC’s unique Impact Flywheel – increasing Annual Recurring Revenue while simultaneously reducing unit cost.

JALA

JALA builds a digital ecosystem across the shrimp industry. We help farmers and buyers to improve shrimp production and create much efficiency in their systems.

The JALA App helps farmers track their farms online. Data is collected in our App, then being articulated into insights, such as growth, harvest predictions, and recommendation system for farmers to make data-driven decisions.

From thousands of data cycles that we collected, we are able to form big data, where we understand how a farm can perform better. With these insights, we create JALA SmartFarm, a profit-sharing program that assists farmers to side by side and provides them with working capital so we can make room for improvement needed to have precision farming.

The big data also tells us about harvest potential as supply information. Here in JALA Harvest, we help buyers source shrimp from farmers within the App, and help them make faster payments to the farm. Currently, we have over 13 thousand users and 25 thousand shrimp ponds.
