SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action)

SNEHA (Society for Nutrition Education and Health Action) works in urban informal settlements and builds replicable, evidence- based solutions to improve health outcomes of vulnerable urban women and children.
Our founder Dr. Armida Fernandez, then a neonatologist in a large public hospital experienced that mothers and children often faced poor nutritional and health outcomes. She and her team wanted to develop sustainable interventions that would go beyond simply providing stopgap solutions. SNEHA was thus established to work on the twin goals of improving health-seeking behavior among under-served communities and improving quality of public health services. SNEHA works in four large areas of public health which includes Maternal and Newborn health, Child health and Nutrition, Empowerment health and sexuality among adolescents and Prevention of Violence against women and children.
