South Asian Forum for Environment

South Asian Forum for Environment, a regional civil society organization registered under Indian Trust Act of 1862, is spearheading interventions in accomplishing SDGs in South Asian ecoregion, since 2004. SAFE is in consultative status with ECOSOC as a regional CSO and as well with GEF as a regional network member. Being a major stakeholder to UN Environment, SAFE enjoys observer status with UNFCCC and GCF. In the milieu of climate change, SAFE envisages global reciprocal partnership and participatory action for commons to promote community governance and wise use of natural resources through equity and reciprocity. SAFE works in environmental domains like climate change, alternative agriculture and livelihood, habitat restoration and biodiversity conservation, new energy, waste, and water resource management etc with lead development agencies like World Bank, UNEP, UNDP, GDN, IUCN, UNHABITAT, APN-GCR, DFID, USAID, NASA etc to mention a few and as well MNCs for their CSR programs.
