The 40K Foundation Australia Limited

40K is an EdTech social impact organization working in low-resource environments in Cambodia and India. We operate on the belief that education must be available equally to all children, irrespective of their location or circumstances. In the communities where we work, English is the language of opportunity. However, with untrained teachers and a severe lack of resources like internet access in provincial schools, the current teacher-led approach to English is failing, creating an ever-widening inequity between urban and rural students.

Our flagship PLUS English program leverages technology to greatly improve the teaching-learning experience with high quality learning material, teacher empowerment and data-driven interventions. All of this is available offline and is accessible through low-cost android devices. The program is designed for first-generation English learners and for use in environments where trained teachers and internet access are hard to find.

AFIL provides both financial and capacity building support to our partners, which is sourced from our substantial pool of technical expertise available to AFIL through our collaborative relationship with Atlassian.

Atlassian is a leading provider of team collaboration and productivity software. Atlassian software helps teams at more than 125,000 organizations to unleash the power of teams through open work.

Atlassian believes in the power of both business and education as forces for good. In the very early days of Atlassian the two founders, Scott and Mike, pledged that 1% of Atlassian’s resources (equity, profit, employee time and products) would be used for social good. This pledge has evolved the Pledge 1% movement which Atlassian and Salesforce founded and has grown to a movement of over 8,500 companies committing to the 1% giving model.
