Ashoka: Innovators for the Public

Established in 1981 by Bill Drayton, Ashoka is the world's largest network of social entrepreneurs. Like business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs are leaders with creative solutions, but they focus their talent and energy on solving social problems and driving change. By naming the world's best social entrepreneurs as 'Ashoka Fellows,' and providing them with financing, capacity building services, and valuable connections, Ashoka has championed their cause and supported their work for the last 30 years. As they take on tough challenges in health, economic development, education, human rights and many other areas, Ashoka Fellows change millions of lives, influence public policy, and set standards for others to follow. In addition to growing our network of over 3300 Ashoka Fellows, Ashoka is building an 'Everyone a Changemaker' world — a world where all people are able to envision and enact change in their societies.
