ACPNS

• is a Queensland-based national teaching and research centre in QUT’s Business School
• exists to build the capability and leadership acumen of the nonprofit, philanthropic and social enterprise sector in Australia and beyond
• helps community organisations and companies drive transformative change and social impact
• has delivered the benefits of its teaching and research and technology to nonprofit/social enterprise/philanthropy sector for nearly 20 years
• The ACPNS team has more than 125 years combined experience in nonprofit sector practice, teaching and research.
• began in 1990 as the Program on Nonprofit Corporations – with 100+ still used working papers and popular tools for community organisations
• is second only to robotics at QUT in downloads of its materials
• pioneered social enterprise and fundraising as tertiary level subjects in Australia
• is staffed by academics who have also led sector organisations and had longterm sector careers
• taps into expertise across QUT and other universities to benefit sector outcomes through high level, multi-disciplinary teams/solutions
• hosts social problem solving think tank EIDOS, and
• works regularly and successfully with the sector, communities, companies and governments on changemaking policy, ideas, evidence and tools.

ACPNS has strengths across sector areas and particularly in governance, regulation and public policy; capabilities, culture and change; social enterprise and ethical business; philanthropy, fundraising and nonprofit marketing; accountability, accounting and audit; and faith-based charities.
