Yayasan Indika Untuk Indonesia – or publicly known as Indika Foundation – is a nonprofit organization founded by PT Indika Energy, Tbk in February 2017. Indika Foundation operates in the area of character and peace building, with mission to build resilient Indonesian, capable of unleashing their potentials which rooted and rich with Indonesian values. This makes us unique as we are the first corporate foundation to operate in these areas.
Since its inception, Indika Foundation has managed total fund of ~IDR 20 billion or ~USD 1.4 million , raising the fund from both national and international organizations. Our main donor is PT Indika Energy, Tbk itself along with its subsidiary companies, but Indika Foundation has been actively approaching other organizations such as USAID and UNDP, from which we have successfully gotten funding for some of our programs in the past.
Although Indika Foundation is falling under the category of nonprofit organization, we like to call ourselves as social venture capital. Our business model has two-pronged approach; we invest our money in other smaller nonprofit organizations and help them to thrive, and we create programs in-house – in the process of which have involved more than 40 organizations – all in the area of character and peace building.
