The OECD Global Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD) is a group of self-selected foundations committed to optimising the impact of philanthropy for development through the sharing of experiences, lesson learning, policy influencing and the development of innovative partnerships, which was launched in October 2012. The Network’s objective is to foster knowledge sharing between the OECD and foundations, which are important actors in the development ‘architecture’, in order to contribute to new thinking on development strategies, provide a platform for multi-dimensional knowledge sharing and dialogue, and ultimately influence policy. It will allow foundations to engage with other stakeholders that the OECD interacts with, including government, the private sector and think tanks, enabling them to adapt to a shifting environment, while collectively looking into the challenges linked to effective project implementation to achieve impact and sustainable results.
