As stipulated in Robert Bosch’s last will and testament, the foundation focuses its resources on the areas of health, education, and international relations. Other purposes include welfare, the arts and culture, and research teaching in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. The Robert Bosch Stiftung gets involved in social discussions and addresses problems as early as possible. The foundation is not only an operating foundation that pursues its goals by programs of its own, but also a funding foundation that enables others to develop and implement projects and initiatives that meet social needs according to the foundation’s mission.

Working with experts, we develop projects and programs to demonstrate exemplary solutions and encourage others to take the next step. The foundation uses a variety of different methods, including competitions, fellowship programs, awards, and the support of model projects. Independent committees, juries, scientific studies, seminars, and symposia support our. The Robert Bosch Stiftung prefers to work with partners in its programs. Collaborations with other foundations and state and private institutions promote the exchange of experiences and a practical approach, as well as increase the amount of financial support for programs.
