UNICEF is a UN agency focused on ensuring rights of children as defined by UN Convention of the Rights of the Child are fulfilled. UNICEF has been working in India since 1949 and has a basic cooperation agreement with Government of India. UNICEF has been instrumental in designing some of the key interventions for children and has been instrumental in some of the key gains India has seen including more recently elimination of polio. UNICEF operates on 6 key priorities and works to create sustainable and holistic changes at a scale.
