The power of AVPN’s impact in West Asia
The 11th edition of the AVPN Annual Global Conference was held for the first time in Abu Dhabi in April 2024, under the theme “One Asia, One Future”. As with the rest of Asia, the UAE also has a long-held tradition of philanthropy where giving is done privately.
The event brought together social investors, philanthropists and policymakers across Asia to address key global challenges like poverty, climate change and equitable development. Featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions and networking sessions, the event highlighted the power of cross-sector partnerships and innovative funding models to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
With a focus on inclusive economic growth and philanthropy’s role in driving systemic change, discussions explored impact investing, ESG strategies and the role of social enterprises in gender equity and sustainability. The 2024 conference strengthened Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for social innovation and sustainable finance. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, it was the most inclusive conference to date. This conference witnessed:
