AVPN is looking to surface innovative funding solutions and new philanthropic strategies to address maternal and child nutrition in food fortification and within first 1,000 days in Asia.
Asia is home to over half of all children
suffering from stunting, almost half of
all overweight children and more than
two-thirds of all children suffering from
wasting in the world.
WHY FUND MALNUTRITION?
Malnutrition is largely preventable.
With necessary funding, every $1 spent
by donors on basic nutrition programmes
can result in a $16 return to the
AVPN is one of the partners working to galvanise commitment from philanthropists and corporate entities to end malnutrition in all its forms by 2030 as part of the UN Decade for Action on Nutrition.
AVPN’s efforts will contribute towards a pledging event at the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2020 (N4G 2020). To be held on the eve of the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, the summit will be an unprecedented opportunity to set the world on a pathway towards achieving the SDG targets.
