Amplifon Foundation was founded in Milan in 2020, with a global mandate to support the inclusion of people at risk of marginalisation and to promote the development of their interpersonal relationships. There is a special focus on the elderly and on encouraging them to take an active part in social, cultural and professional life.
Its flagship project is ‘Ciao!’ was set up in Italy in 2020, at the heightest peak of the pandemic, to mitigate the prolonged isolation to which residents in nursing homes were forced, facilitating the relations with their families as well as giving opportunities for entertainment and recreation.
Thanks a video-presence system of the highest audio and video quality for video calls, the elderly can experience a full and emotional relationship with their relatives as well as enjoy new interactive activities that fully engage them physically, mentally and emotionally, such as yoga classes or digital travels thus countering their cognitive ageing.
Since the project has been sincerely appreciated by guests in over 250 Italian facilities since 2023, Amplifon Foundation has started to expand the project internationally involving facilities in Portugal, Australia and in France.
