ADB Ventures is the venture arm of the Asian Development Bank. We invest in bold technology startups solving the Asia’s biggest unsolved problems with a focus on tackling climate change and gender inequality. We back game-changing climate technology entrepreneurs across multiple rounds including seed, early and early-growth stage capital to help them scale up while creating a positive impact in Asia. We invest for financial returns and impact.
Launched in 2020 we currently manage $72 million assets and have 20+ companies in our rapidly expanding portfolio. Our inaugural equity fund provides patient venture capital to impact technology startups alongside other co-investors. We will launch a new debt fund in 2022 to help scale deployment of capital-intensive climate technology solutions.
We pair capital with ADB’s deep insights and networks to help build new market leaders. We believe it takes more than just capital to back high-growth ventures, and we aspire to provide the support to make them succeed.
Our funders include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland, the Ministry of Economy and Finance Republic of Korea, the Korea Venture Investment Corporation, the Nordic Development Fund, the Clean Technology Fund, the Asia-Pacific Climate Finance Fund, the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in Asia, and the Regional Cooperation and Integration Fund.
