The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) is an intergovernmental organization established in 2018 with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
Comprising 15 member countries primarily in Southeast and Central Asia, AFoCO strives to enhance forest cooperation across the region. Its core mission is to promote sustainable forest management as a key strategy in combating climate change. AFoCO achieves this by facilitating the sharing of knowledge, technology, and policies among its members. The organization actively supports reforestation initiatives, capacity building programs, and provides policy recommendations to ensure the health and resilience of Asian forests. By fostering collaboration and action-oriented approaches, AFoCO plays a vital role in safeguarding forest ecosystems, mitigating climate change, and improving the livelihoods of communities dependent on forest resources.
